PIPELINE CORROSION

Pipelines are typically made of metals such as copper or mild steel. This means they are highly susceptible to the damaging effects of corrosion. Pipelines carrying water can be kept safe from corrosion by adding in certain solutions. These solutions are typically water soluble and work by forming a film. The film acts as a barrier between any corrosion causing elements, however, care must be taken to ensure that the treated water has come into contact with all metallic surfaces within the pipe, in order to function efficiently. The solution must be added every 6 months to keep the pipes in good shape. This method is not only easy and quick, but is also eco-friendly.
